Inferno: A Novel (Robert Langdon)

Inferno: A Novel (Robert Langdon) - Dan Brown I was very disappointed with [b:The Lost Symbol|6411961|The Lost Symbol (Robert Langdon, #3)|Dan Brown|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1358274396s/6411961.jpg|6600281], but I did like the first two Robert Langdon books, so I decided to try this one. Then I almost gave up on it after about 20%. It wasn't that it started slow; quite the opposite in fact. The pace was almost frenetic, but I couldn't quite bond with the characters. Even Langdon, who I usually like, seemed like a clueless dupe at the beginning of the book.

But I kept with it and I'm glad I did. The pace didn't let up, but gradually I began to feel more sympathy for the characters. And Langdon began to recover. The plot was both frustrating and engrossing. Nonstop action without much explanation. Lots of twists and turns. Some as much as 180 degrees -- several times.

So, yes, I enjoyed it. And the premise is thought provoking. I do recommend it to anyone who likes puzzles and high-action suspense, but I'm not sure whether I'll read it again.
